COVID-19 is having an outsized impact on older adults who are facing social isolation, many of whom are unfamiliar with online communities and tools. People living with dementia and their families are especially vulnerable.
TOGETHER is putting together new MOVING Together classes to bring community and movement into one's home. We'd like to offer them for FREE for now but need additional funding to make this happen right away.
Due to COVID-19, our immediate focus is shifting briefly from business growth to supporting our community with more classes.
Initial business funding to date has been from a NIH Small Business Research Innovation (SBIR) grant. We have demonstrated that people with cognitive decline can effectively participate in online group movement classes and that there are unique benefits to our specific platform.
We have received a notice of intent for a second SBIR grant to explore additional outcomes and MOVING Together in people with mild cognitive decline.
Next steps include scaling our platform to bring more programming and innovative technology-based services to older adults concerned with memory loss.
We are offering new online MOVING Together classes to seniors now for free beyond our current start-up plans. Please help us support these participants.
Any contributions welcome, for example:
$100 helps our tech team to support newly online seniors to access our community and social media tools
$500 pays for a 12-week class for a person with dementia together with their caregiver
$1000 pays for 2 Veterans to complete an online program
$5000 pays for all participants in each 12-week class
